So what are the 4 C’s? They are Clarity, Carat, Cut and Color. The 4 C’s can help you to make your purchase decision wiser:

1. Clarity. Clarity refers how many flaws that a particular piece diamond has. Diamonds without flaws are harder to find, and are usually more expensive. Usually most diamonds that are sold by retailers have some type of flaws, but are hard to be seen through our human eyes. As long as the diamond jewelry does not have very obvious flaws, it will be worth purchasing.

2. Carat. This refers to the weight of a diamond. The larger the carat, the heavier the diamond. Diamonds which have a larger carat are more expensive but they lose out on the clarity and color when compared to smaller diamonds.

3. Cut. This refers to how a diamond is being fashioned and designed. Some common shapes of a diamond are oval, pear-shaped, heart-shaped, rectangular, etc.

4. Color. Common colors for diamonds are white, green, yellow, purple, black and pink. Some diamonds are colorless and are pretty popular among women.

By taking consideration of the 4 C’s when you are about to purchase diamond jewelry, you will be able to have a guide on how to choose the right one for yourself or that special someone.
